Why is a three phase denoted by R,Y,B?



It represents the color of wire red yellow blue which is used in three phase line. RYB is abbreviation for Red, yellow, blue. These colors are historically konwn. According to IE rules, RYB represents the colour coding of phase /live wires represented in red, yellow and blue. So, It is mainly used to identify phase sequence. 3 phase colour coding based on R=red Y=yellow B= blue.
